Approach to the Cottage

Waylands Farm Cottages is approached via a 150m driveway shared with the farm. In the centre of the complex is a courtyard which is used for parking.

Arrival

Cars can park outside the front door to unload and one car from the cottage can use that space to park. From a car parked immediately outside the cottage, passengers can step out onto a flat concrete pathway.

Main Entrance

Access to the cottage is gained via two steps to the front door which has an open width of 75cm. There is a PIR light next to the front door and there are switched lights at the other external entrance/exits and on the approach to the cottage.

Standard heights & widths

Unless stated otherwise, all light switches are at an approximate height of 135cm, all power sockets are at an approximate height of 20cm and all doorways are approximately 75cm in width.

Ground Floor

Leading off the main hall are the second lounge, kitchen, staircase and cleaning cupboard. A single step/level change leads to the corridor at the rear of the cottage. Leading off this corridor are the twin bedded room, king size bedroom, family bath/shower room and the main lounge.

All main rooms are carpeted unless stated otherwise.

Lounge 1

The entrance door is a double door with a full width of 110cm. There is a patio doorway to the garden with an open width of 69cm.

Lounge 2

Laminate floor with rug.

Bedroom 4 - Twin Bedded

There is 60cm access between the beds.

Bedroom 5 - King Size

Laminate floor with rug.

There is 60cm access on both sides of the bed.

Bath/Shower Room

Vinyl floor with a single step/level change to get to the shower, bath and WC area.

There is a small step into the shower cubicle.

Kitchen

Tiled floor.

All units are of standard height. The ovens are in the height range of 75cm to 160cm. Sockets and switches in the kitchen area are 20cm above the work surface.

Staircase to First Floor

The staircase is in a straight line with 13 steps. There is a full length hand rail. The staircase leads onto a corridor that is at right angles to the staircase. Three bedrooms lead off this corridor.

First Floor

All bedrooms are carpeted and all the en suites have tiled floors.

Bedroom 1 - Double & Single

A spacious room with a double and single bed. There is 75cm of access around both beds. Additional access for one bed/side can be made by adjusting the bed positions appropriately.

En suite shower/WC on the level with small step into shower cubicle.

Bedroom 2 - Double

A double bedded room with approximately 40 and 45cm access to the sides of the bed.

A double bedded room with approximately 85 and 145cm access to the sides of the bed.

En suite bath/WC on the level. The bath has two integral side handles.

Grounds & Gardens

The grounds behind the cottage are reached via:

  • Patio doors from the Lounge 1, down one step.
  • Kitchen door, down 1 step and then up two steps.
  • Front entrance, up 6 steps
  • Approach drive, level through gate

The grounds behind the cottage are mainly lawn, open and slightly inclined with an approximate area of 400 m2 including a paved patio area of approximately 60 m2 with picnic tables.

The grounds extend around the cottages and adjacent to the surrounding farmland and can be accessed from the courtyard/parking area. The grounds are mainly lawn with a slight incline.

Public Transport

The nearest train station is in Looe which is approximately 2km away.

The nearest bus request stop is approximately 300m away, 150m of which is along an infrequently used single track lane. Buses go to Looe, Polperro, Polruan/Fowey and Plymouth. Additional routes operate from Looe.

There are many taxi firms operating in the Looe, Polperro and Pelynt area.

Additional Information

All mobile phone networks are reported to work, however the thick stone walls make for low signal strength in some rooms.

Free broadband internet access is available for compatible equipment; however the thick stone walls make for low signal strength in some rooms.

All pillows and duvets are filled with man made materials.

A convenience store, bar and cafe, which are open during main holiday periods, are all 650m away; 200m is along an infrequently used single track lane after which a kissing gate allows the rest of the route to be off road, alternatively continuing along an additional 150m of the lane avoids the kissing gate. There is a Somerfield, Co-Op and Spar plus other convenience stores in Looe 2km away, and there is a Morrisons Superstore in Liskeard 15km away.

There is a AA *** hotel bar and restaurant (set in 4 acres) 1.3km away which can be reached on foot; 150m is along an infrequently used single track lane, 500m along a main road with pathway and 500m along a wide access road with no through traffic.
